SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a communication line failure handling method, to a communication line failure handling device, as well as to a terminal device and a data medium. Said result is ensured by determining whether to transmit a first notification message to a remote terminal device depending on a cell, with which the connection is re-established by the relay terminal device. A method for handling a line failure performed by a relay terminal device includes, in response to a communication line failure in the relay terminal device, transmitting a first notification message to a remote terminal device. Communication line failure includes at least one of the following: radio link failure, expiration of timer T310, expiration of timer T312, integrity monitoring error in signaling radio channel (SRB) 1, integrity monitoring error in SRB2, integrity monitoring error in SRB3 or reconfiguration error.

EFFECT: avoiding unnecessary transmission of notifications, which prevents wastage of resources.
