FIELD: engine devices and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: improved catalytic carrier intended for use with a silencer in an automobile exhaust system comprises: an insulating material, a thermally divided carrier on a central zone and a tubular outer zone surrounding the central zone. The insulating material, the central zone and the outer zone collectively define a modified carrier. The insulating material is adapted in such a way that, in the operational mode, the temperature difference across the insulating material is at least 25°C.
EFFECT: use of the invention will allow to create a catalytic carrier with reduced resistance to the gas flow.
