FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a catalyst on a substrate containing an alloy of platinum and palladium, which is suitable for use as oxidation catalysts in catalytic converters installed on vehicles with a diesel engine. Method of manufacturing a catalyst on a substrate comprises the following steps: (i) combining the particulate material of the substrate containing alumina, a solution of a platinum compound, a solution of a palladium compound, and a solution of an alkaline precipitating agent to form a suspension mixture; (ii) stirring the resulting mixture; and (iii) bringing the solid phase into contact with a reducing agent, where the reducing agent contains hydrazine. Method of manufacturing a catalyzed substrate is also proposed, which includes the following steps: (i) preparing a supported catalyst using the above method; (ii) separating and washing the resulting catalyst on a substrate; (iii) preparing a porous oxide coating by creating a catalyst slurry on a substrate; and (iv) bringing the porous oxide coating into contact with the substrate.
EFFECT: obtaining a platinum-palladium alloy, which does not require high-temperature heating of platinum and palladium.
