SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing biomethane by cleaning biogas from non-hazardous waste (NHWSF) storages and to an apparatus for carrying out said method. Method of producing biomethane by cleaning biogas from non-hazardous waste storage includes compressing initial gas stream, introducing a stream of gas to be purified into at least one adsorber, filled with adsorbents capable of reversible adsorption of VOC. It includes subjecting the VOC depleted gas flow leaving the adsorber to at least one stage of membrane separation in order to partially separate CO2 and O2 from the gas flow. That is followed by introduction of a retentate obtained at the stage of membrane separation into at least one adsorber filled with adsorbents capable of reversible adsorption of the greater part of remaining CO2. Exposing CO2-exhausted gas stream leaving the adsorber, capable of reversible adsorption of a greater portion of remaining CO2, a cryogenic separation step in a distillation column in order to separate O2 and N2 from the gas stream. And extraction of CH4-rich stream obtained at cryogenic separation stage.
EFFECT: invention provides a gaseous stream enriched with methane, content of methane in which meets the needs of its use and to the extent possible limits exposure of methane (CH4) emissions to atmosphere (strong greenhouse effect); also provides cleaning biogas from storage of non-hazardous wastes in order to obtain biomethane, which meets the requirements for pumping into a network of distribution of natural gas, or for local use as motor fuel.
