FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measurement equipment. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the flexible object is placed in the solenoid, the object tension is set by translational movement of the carriage, to which one end of the extended specimen is fixed. Other end of the non-rigid object is connected to a resistive mechanical load sensor, the output signal of which goes to the amplifier and then to the digital voltmeter. At that, in order to minimize effect of resistance sensor output voltage drift and distortions of measurement results due to heating of object by solenoid current, pulse currents of variable duty cycle with returns to zero are used. Magnetostriction value is recalculated taking into account the effective rigidity of the "sensor-object" system.
EFFECT: measurement of magnetostriction dependence on magnetic field of nonrigid objects, removal of magnetostriction dependence curves from field under applied mechanical load.
