FIELD: detection.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and apparatus for producing samples for a detector. Detector comprises an analytical device for detecting a substance of interest, and an inlet channel of a detector, comprising: a passageway for fluid flow transfer and comprising a sample volume; a sampling inlet for sampling a fluid from the sample volume when the fluid flow passes the sample inlet, and for feeding the sample into the analytical apparatus, wherein the fluid stream carries the undesirable particles; and a flow direction device for changing the spatial distribution of particles carried by the fluid in a direction perpendicular to the flow to increase the relative ratio of particles passing through the inlet for sampling when passing the stream without falling into the sample volume. At that, sampling inlet contains at least one of the following: inlet with microhole, membrane inlet and capillary inlet. Disclosed also is a method of detecting a substance of interest.
EFFECT: group of inventions reduces the risk of contamination of the detector with undesirable particulate material.
