FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a winding device, a method of replacing a coil on this device, which can be used for winding of optical fibre. Winding device comprises distribution wheel for distribution of optical fibre to first coil for winding optical fibre, coiler installed with possibility of movement on guides for rotation of the first coil around its central axis and movement along its central axis for winding of optical fibre to the first coil and movement of the first coil into replacement zone when the first coil is filled. Winding device comprises an attachment device for attaching optical fibre to a first coil, a cutter for cutting optical fibre, a gripper for capturing optical fibre supplied by a distributor wheel, and to hold optical fibre stationary during attachment and cutting of optical fibre. At that, the coil is arranged with the possibility of the first coil movement from the distributing wheel, when the first coil is filled so that the gripper could capture the optical fibre in the position between the distributing wheel and the first coil flange closest to the distributing wheel, and with possibility, after removal of the first coil, movement of the second, empty coil into position, in which optical fibre passes through flange of the second coil, closest to distribution wheel, so that attachment device could attach optical fibre to flange. Method of replacing a filled first coil in a single-coil reel device comprising a distribution wheel for distributing the optical fibre to the first coil, is that a filled first coil is diverted from the distribution wheel until the optical fibre passes through the first coil flange, after which the optical fibre is gripped by means of a grip in the position between the distributing wheel and the first coil flange, is attached to the first coil flange and is cut in the position between the grip and the flange. Then the first coil is removed, and the second empty coil is moved to the position, in which the optical fibre passes through the second coil flange. Thereafter, the optical fibre is attached to the second coil flange, released from the grip and its winding is initiated to the second coil.

EFFECT: invention improves manufacturability of winding device and convenience of its operation, in particular, at replacement of coils.
