FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology, and aims at diagnosing perilymphatic fistula. Assess the hydrodynamic disorders in the cochlea by research of brainstem auditory evoked responses (BAERs) on both sides using a broadband click and a chirp stimulus as a sound stimulation. Stimulation is carried out in compression and rarefaction modes. Assess the BAERs peak I latency shift (LS), which occurs when applying the above stimulation modes, and the inter-ear value difference of BAERs peak I LS. In BAERs peak I LS from 0.2 ms and more on affected side and presence of inter-ear difference of BAERs peak I LS values from 0.15 ms and more when using broadband click and BAERs peak I LS from 0.2 ms and more on the affected side and the presence of inter-ear difference of the BAERs peak I LS values from 0.2 ms and more when using the chirp-stimulus, labyrinth perilymphatic fistula is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy and objectivity of diagnosing perilymphatic fistula irrespective of age and level of consciousness, patient's hearing thresholds due to use of brainstem auditory evoked responses in assess of hydrodynamic disorders.
