FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to forensic medical examination, and can be used for determining the biological age of a corpse by examining the cerebellar tissues. For this purpose, thickness of molecular and granular layers is measured in cortex of lower semilunar segment of undamaged cerebellum, method includes determining a molecular layer thickness to granular thickness ratio and summing up with a percentage of immunoreactive protein S-100 of piriform neurons established by immunohistochemical examination. As a result, equal to 2.07 and less, conclusion is made on biological age of corpse 70 years and older; with result exceeding 2.3, the biological age of the corpse is considered to be 60 years and younger.
EFFECT: using this method enables determining the biological age of a human corpse with separation into age periods.
