FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of ingots from precious metals. Machine comprises at least one mold (1) with cover (4). Solid metal in the form of powder, crumbs or shavings is loaded into the mold, then it is melted and the mold is cooled to produce an ingot. Lower part of the cover is located on loaded solid metal without contact with the edge stop of the mold for uniform compaction of solid metal before its melting. After melting of metal and gradual reduction of its volume at its melting up to one third of volume of mold, which is occupied with loaded metal, provides hermetic arrangement of cover on support.
EFFECT: accurate size and weight of ingots.
