FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts for hydrothermal liquefaction of plant biomass and can be used in the preparation of alternative liquid motor fuels. Catalyst for hydrothermal liquefaction of vegetal biomass contains zirconium oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, vanadium oxide, aluminum phosphate, fine aluminum oxide with the following ratio of components, wt%: zirconium oxide 1.0–40.0; titanium oxide 0.5–5.0; tin oxide 0.5–5.0; vanadium oxide 0.1–10.0; aluminum phosphate 1.0–5.0; fine-dispersed aluminum oxide – balance up to 100 in sulphated form.

EFFECT: improved activity of the catalyst with respect to organosulphuric compounds of the feedstock due to conversion of said compounds into a water-soluble form.
