FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to powder metallurgy, namely a method of plasma synthesis of a powder of inorganic material and an apparatus for implementation thereof. Source inorganic material is melted in a melting device and the melt stream of the material is dispersed in a plasma dispenser. A plasma arc furnace is used as a melting device for melting the source inorganic material, said furnace comprised of a plasma torch, a chamber and at least one coolable crucible with a drainage hole, wherein the melt stream of inorganic material is supplied through said hole into the starting area of the nozzle channel of the stream plasma torch. The length of said nozzle channel is equal to two diameters of said nozzle. The melt stream is dispersed in the plasma disperser by a conducting plasma stream in the arc spot formed on the melt stream in the nozzle channel of the stream plasma torch producing powder of the inorganic material, and the produced powder is supplied into the receiver. Said apparatus comprises a plasma arc furnace for melting the source inorganic material, plasma disperser of inorganic material melt equipped with a stream plasma torch, sources of inorganic material and plasma forming gas, an exhaust gas collector for the melting device and the plasma gas disperser equipped with a heat exchanger and a filtering device, and a receiver for resulting powder. The plasma arc furnace is comprised of a plasma torch, a chamber and at least one coolable crucible with a drainage hole for supplying the melt stream into the plasma disperser.
EFFECT: high efficiency and wide possibility for adjustment of energy deposition on the melt with a conducting plasma stream is achieved which allows reducing energy consumption and broadening the range of produced powder.
