SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method of controlling one or more vehicle components based on image information received from a vehicle camera. More specifically, the camera-based vehicle control system is configured to view the obtained image information to determine corresponding cases, at which various components of the vehicle are controlled. Vehicle driver assistance system includes a camera configured to obtain image information and a processor. Processor is configured to analyze image information for signs of closing roads and associated closing distances. A navigation route is generated and displayed based on the analyzed data. Processor determines that one of the images provides an analyzed road closure sign, but not analyzed associated closure distance, and in response, requests traffic information server to determine associated closing distance.
EFFECT: higher safety during vehicle operation.
