SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport systems. Method for detecting dangerous wind conditions comprises steps of receiving data from a sensor mounted in a vehicle, which is a lidar sensor, receiving images from the camera, receiving data on the transverse and vertical axis from at least one of the accelerometer and the gyroscope, detecting particles around the vehicle by using sensor and image data, map data are received, weather data are received, and a wind condition is determined near the vehicle. When determining that wind condition near vehicle is severe, optimum action is determined. Device for detecting dangerous wind conditions has a plurality of sensors, a wind detection system to identify particles suspended in air near the vehicle. Wind detection system is additionally configured so that in response to identification of particles suspended in air: determining wind speed and wind direction based on movement of suspended particles in the air, determining optimum action to avoid or mitigate wind action on the vehicle and to perform optimum action.
EFFECT: elimination or mitigation of wind effects is achieved.
