FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical reagents, namely to emulsifiers used in producing a homogeneous mixture of immiscible liquids, such as oil and water, oil and water, and so forth, and used in drilling oil and gas wells using drilling fluids. In the method of producing an emulsifier for drilling muds on a hydrocarbon base, a mixture of fatty acids of vegetable oil and diethanolamine is first heated to 130 °C–140 °C, Phthalic anhydride is then added and stirred at said temperature for 2–2.5 h until complete dissolution of phthalic anhydride, followed by addition of diesel fuel and stirring for 30 more minutes until homogeneity of mixture. Ingredients are taken in ratio, wt. %: fatty acids of vegetable oils 60–70; diethanolamine 3–5; phthalic anhydride 8.5–10; diesel fuel 15–28.5.
EFFECT: technical result is high electrical stability of emulsifier and high value of filtration index.
