METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF DEVELOPING ACUTE PANCREATITIS FOLLOWING ENDOSCOPIC INTERVENTIONS ON A LARGE PAPILLA OF THE DUODENUM Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2731001 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery. A risk factor is scored. 1 point is assigned if female patient is present, performing lithoextraction of choledochal calculus; 2 points at patient's age from 20 to 40 years inclusive, unexpanded choledochus, non-cannulation papillotomy; 3 points in the presence of acute pancreatitis in past history, performing more than three times cannulation of the main pancreatic duct. Sum of points is calculated. If the total score is 5 or less, the risk of the acute post-manipulation pancreatitis is considered to be low; if total score is 6 or more, then high.

EFFECT: method enables predicting the risk of acute post-manipulation pancreatitis following endoscopic interventions and selecting a patient management approach.
