FIELD: aviation; physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a radar method of landing an aircraft, specifically an aerodynamic hovercraft or surface-effect airborne ship on a water surface. For this purpose, using the on-board radar of the district, a water surface selected for landing is irradiated, reflected electromagnetic signals are received and displayed on the indicator, wave character of the water surface is detected, measuring the length of the sea wave, calculating the wave height from known ratios, comparing with the wave height values permitted for the landing of the specific hovercraft or surface-effect airborne ship, and, in the absence of exceeding the measured height of the allowable value, landing approach is made, direction of wave front is determined and glide path is performed at 90° to wave front, at that, flight altitude is determined in certain way. If the measured height coincides with the height of alignment, the value of which is established for glide path of each hovercraft or surface-effect airborne ship, height measurement is stopped.
EFFECT: safe landing.
