FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiolocation and can be used to detect air areas, dangerous for flying of aircrafts and other objects of these areas; for obtaining the information about the nature of hazardous wind flows in meteorology and atmospheric physics. This result is achieved due to the fact that with the help of an onboard radar station, the wave nature and the longitudinal type of wind airflow are determined, namely, on the screen of the indicator, extended areas of the water surface, on which bands with the same and variable level of echo signals are distinguished, are detected, the frequency of location of these bands is detected, direction of which coincides with the wind direction, the wavelength of the wind air wave flows of the longitudinal type at different wind speeds is measured. With additional detection of laminar wind air streams and their intersections with wind wave streams of the longitudinal type – interference areas that are sources of storms, squalls, cyclones, the direction and distance of the interference areas are determined.
EFFECT: technical result is earlier detection of wind flow anomalies and the determination of their directions.
