METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFECTIVENESS OF HEARING AIDS IN ADULT PATIENTS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/12

Abstract RU 2821663 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to audiology-otorhinolaryngology and can be used to assess the effectiveness of hearing aids in adult patients. Speech audiometry is carried out in silence and in noise, and the effectiveness of hearing aids is determined based on the results of the conducted studies in terms of speech intelligibility. Speech audiometry in a free sound field is carried out at a signal level of 65 dB in silence and in noise (signal-to-noise ratio +6 dB) without and with a hearing aid, the hearing aid is considered effective if speech intelligibility in silence with a hearing aid is not less than 85 % and if speech intelligibility in noise with a hearing aid is not less than 80 %.

EFFECT: method provides more effective assessment of the hearing aid results.
