ELECTRODE SYSTEM, DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TREATING EYE DISEASES, PARTICULARLY DRY EYE SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61N1/36 A61F9/00

Abstract RU 2723113 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and an electrode system for treating dry eye syndrome. System comprises electrodes and a radio-frequency circuit. Electrodes are intended for application in order to come into contact with the eye, eye socket, temple, eyelid or any part of them. Sections of electrodes accordingly repeat shape of surfaces of these areas, or are flexible and adaptable. Thereby, it is possible to fit in shape between said electrode sections and application area. Radio frequency circuit is configured to generate an electromagnetic signal of a distorted sinusoidal current with a resonance frequency of 4 MHz, including associated second and third harmonics. On said sections of electrodes, intended for application with contact with areas of application, provided by a method for treating dry eye syndrome, supplying an electromagnetic signal of a distorted sinusoidal current with a resonant frequency of 4 MHz, which includes accompanying second and third harmonics. Method and device are used for treating ophthalmic diseases, such as blepharitis, epithelial ulcer, retinitis pigment, age degenerative maculopathy.

EFFECT: method and device for use in dry eye therapy with uniform distribution of electromagnetic field, having a therapeutic effect, eliminating the symptoms of the disease, reducing the frequency of the symptomatic therapy.
