FIELD: direct conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy.
SUBSTANCE: thermal element consists of p- and n-branches interconnected serially into electric circuit. P-branch of thermal element is based on polycrystalline textured semiconductor material from Bi2Te3-Sb2Te solid solution. In the first version, the crystallographic axis C, along which the polycrystal of the p-branch semiconductor material is oriented, is directed along the heat flux. In the second version of the invention, the p-branch consists of two parts which are in electrical and thermal contact with each other. Crystallographic axis C along which the polycrystal of the semiconductor material is oriented in the lower part of the p-branch from the low-temperature side of the thermoelement is directed perpendicular to the heat flux. Crystallographic axis C along which the polycrystal of the semiconductor material is oriented in the upper part of the p-branch from the high-temperature side of the thermocell is directed along the heat flux.
EFFECT: high efficiency of the thermoelectric cell, high thermoelectric efficiency.
