FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing continuous ingot from monotectic aluminum-bismuth alloy, in which crystalline state in crystalline matrix of aluminum is uniformly distributed primary bismuth phase. Method includes alloy components melting at temperature, in which there is a single homogeneous phase, transporting the melt in the form of a continuous workpiece in a conveying device having an inclination relative to the horizontal, melt cooling during transportation in direction from continuous billet side, located perpendicular to transportation direction, to form a crystallisation front during transportation in the cooling zone, match the cooling rate, the transportation direction inclination and the conveying device speed to form a horizontal crystallisation front, at which Marangoni force arising from cooling and formation of bismuth primary phase is directed antiparallel to gravity, so that movement of primary phase is carried out in direction of gravity. Cooling speed ranges from 1 to 1000 K/s, and inclination angle of transportation direction makes 1–60°. Method then includes drawing alloy hardened to produce continuous ingot.
EFFECT: possibility of uniform distribution of primary phase in crystalline matrix.
