SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for manufacturing a workpiece for drawing optical fibre, a method of making a workpiece for drawing optical fibre. Proposed device comprises target element, first burner and first controller. Target element is configured to absorb particles to form a rod for drawing the core of the optical fibre during deposition. Rod for drawing the core of the optical fibre has a core layer and a layer of the optical coating on the core layer. Burner opening of the first burner is located towards the target element. First burner is connected to the first controller; the device additionally contains a diameter measuring unit connected to the first controller. Diameter measurement unit is configured to measure diameters of layer of shell of core for given time and transfer of diameters of layer of shell of core, measured by unit of diameter measurement, back to first controller. Diameters of the core layer measured by the diameter measuring unit are defined as the measured diameters of the core layer. Preset target diameter of the core layer is pre-stored in the first controller. Flow rate of SiCl4 in the first burner is controlled and controlled by the first controller if there is a deviation between one measured diameter of the core layer and a given target diameter of the core layer. Device comprises a second burner, wherein diameter measurement unit is configured to measure diameters of optical layer and transmission of diameters of optical layer, measured by diameter measurement unit, back to first controller. Specified target value of diameter of optical cover for each position of rod is set in the first controller according to the corresponding measured layer of optical shell. SiCl4 flow rate in the first burner will be increased if the measured diameter of the optical coating layer is less than the corresponding given target diameter of the optical cover. Flow rate of SiCl4 in the first burner will be reduced if the measured diameter of the layer of the optical shell is greater than the corresponding given target value of the diameter of the optical shell. Device comprises a temperature measurement unit connected to the first controller. Temperature measurement unit is configured to track deposition temperatures of the core layer and transfer deposition temperatures measured by the temperature measurement unit back to the first controller. First controller performs control in order to control flow rate H2 in the first burner in accordance with deposition temperatures. Method of making a workpiece for drawing optical fibre involves tracking diameters of the layer of the optical shell, deposition temperatures of the core layer and transfer of deposition temperatures.
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of optical fibre.
