FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to purification of sea water and ground water by distillation for provision of drinking water to agriculture, municipal services and on sea vessels where shortage of fresh drinking water is observed. Device for water desalination comprises reservoirs for initial water, for cooling water vapour and for purified water, first heat pump consisting of compressor, condenser of coolant R-134a, throttling device, evaporator and coolant R-134a, and a second heat pump comprising tanks for initial water, for steam and distilled water, a vacuum pump and an air-cooled heat exchanger. Heat pumps work together.

EFFECT: device provides boiling and condensation of water at low pressure and temperature and increases productivity of the desalination plant.
