FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of technical diagnostics and is intended for detection of damages of insulation of anchor winding of DC machines, as well as for determining the nature of said damages. Summary: rectangular signal is fed to winding. For each angular position of the armature, values of amplitude A2 and period T2 of the damped oscillatory process occurring in the winding are fixed. Value of the diagnostic parameter relative to the implementation of the wave attenuation process is calculated with minimum value of the ratio of the amplitude A1 to the period of oscillations T1. Presence of multiple insulation deterioration points is determined by changing values of the diagnostic parameter.

EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of diagnosis results in the presence of several points of deterioration of insulation.
