METHOD FOR PERIPHERAL VISION PRIORITY DETERMINING, CHARACTERISTIC FOR PEOPLE WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B3/00 A61B5/16

Abstract RU 2724018 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to diagnostics of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) without application of psychological tests or devices. For screening of autism spectrum disorders, a stimulus, for example a finger of a test person, is presented in the peripheral visual field of the person being tested, 1–2 cm downwards at angle of 40–50 cm from the eye, without warning. Sample is considered to be negative if the person being tested turns the head towards the stimulus, and positive if the person being examined treats the stimulus with peripheral vision. Inclination of the head towards the stimulus without turning is also considered a positive test. Positive test is characteristic for people with autism spectrum disorder.

EFFECT: method enables early diagnosis of ASD without using psychological tests or devices.
