FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of processing television video signals containing information on small-size objects in the visible wavelength range under conditions of static or dynamically changing background noise conditions. Images of small-sized objects are projected onto a multi-element photoconverter, which simultaneously forms video signals of components of an image frame in three spectral bands of blue, green and red colors, signals of blue and red components of the frame are filtered with Gaussian filters and multiplied by a correction coefficient, then a signal of the blue component is subtracted from the signal of the green component of the frame, result is normalized in span and subtracted from red frame signal, result is normalized in span and compared distribution of brightness in projections of images with distribution of brightness in models of projections of small objects and, in case of their similarity according to specified criterion, decision is made on the presence of small-size objects in the frame, and in the absence of similarity, the next frame from the sequence is analyzed.

EFFECT: reduced effect of dynamically changing background on detection of small-size objects owing to intraframe spectral-spatial filtration and increased range of detection of small-size objects by reducing influence of dynamically varying background located before small-size objects.
