FIELD: fire fighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of video detection of fire factors. The technical result is achieved by the invention being provided with a photo converter forming video signals in the spectral bands of the blue, green and red frames, wherein said frames are passed through a Gaussian filter, multiplied by a coefficient, subtracted, inter-frame differences are obtained and accumulated, compared with the threshold, and the alarm signal is activated, wherein in the self-monitoring time interval set by the synchronisation signal, the alarm is deactivated, the video signals of the blue and red frames are multiplied with in-phase test video signals of smoke and flame prior to filtering, the video signal of the green frame is delayed by a time equal to the multiplication time, when signals of smoke and flame occur as a result from the processing of the test images obtained by multiplication, serviceability indication is activated, the video signals from the photoconverter are switched to the Gaussian filtration operation and recording operation, the alarm is activated.

EFFECT: reduction in the risk of false triggering and missed detection of smoke and flame during long-term continuous operation; ensured self-monitoring in conditions of a specific background light situation; ensured implementation of the method in two-wire networks.
