FIELD: images converting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for converting images of objects observed by television systems, in particular images of smoke and flame. The effect is achieved by the fact that the converter generates video signals in the spectral bands of blue, green and red frames, which are filtered according to Gaussian, multiplied by a coefficient, subtracted, obtained and accumulated interframe differences, compared with a threshold, and an alarm is activated. In the aggregates of the interframe differences of the flame and smoke channels, the highest brightness values are calculated, the value of the guard interval is added to them, thereby forming the thresholds of the smoke and flame channels, the accumulated interframe differences of both channels are compared with each other, in each fragments coinciding in space are zeroed and binarization is performed, connected regions are selected in fragments of the sums of differences that have exceeded the threshold, they are ranked and rejected, the size of the scanning window is set, and if it can be inscribed into a connected region, taking into account full filling, the alarm is activated.

EFFECT: reducing the risk of false alarms when detecting smoke and flames in a complex background-light environment.
