SUBSTANCE: invention relates to encoding multichannel signal 100. For this purpose, at least two channels 101, 102 are provided and the device comprises step-down mixer 120 for calculation of downmix signal 122 from multichannel signal 100; parameter calculator 140 for calculating a side signal transmission coefficient 141 from first channel 101 of at least two channels and second channel 102 on at least two channels and to calculate residual signal transmission coefficient 142 from first channel 101 and second channel 102; and output interface 160 for generating an output signal, wherein output signal comprises information on downmix signal 122, as well as on side signal transmission coefficient 141 and residual signal transmission coefficient 142.
EFFECT: technical result is improved concept of processing multichannel data.
