FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and a method for determining the direction of view of a vehicle operator. System comprises eye motion measurement sensors and a computer. Motion sensors of eye muscles are included in the device worn by the operator of the vehicle. Computer includes a processor and memory. Memory stores instructions executed by the computer according to the method. Eye movements from the sensor are received. Direction of view of the operator is determined from said measurement. Vehicle operation is activated if the care level of the operator based on the viewing direction is below a predetermined threshold value. Danger on the roadway on the vehicle path from the vehicle sensors data is determined. Lack of attention to roadway hazard is determined on the basis of determining that direction of view has changed from direction of danger on carriageway. Warn operator when determining lack of attention to hazard on carriageway.

EFFECT: method and system for determining direction of view of a vehicle operator for determining level of attentiveness is provided.
