FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to distinguishing between eye reflections and reflections from spectacle optics in an eye tracking system. Such a result is achieved by obtaining from a camera of a visual recognition system of a user input a first eye image obtained by illuminating an eye with an emitter operated at a first power level, receiving from a camera of a visual recognition system of a user input a second eye image obtained by illuminating an eye with an emitter operated at a second different power level, comparing brightness of corresponding pixels of first and second images in order to distinguish reflection of illumination from eye from reflection of illumination from spectacle optics, wherein the first and second images are selected from three or more eye images obtained by the camera at mutually differing power levels of the emitter, in order to detect a retroreflective reaction from the eye in the form of a bright pupil with an unsaturated reflection, and provide an input based on the reflection of illumination from the eye.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of sight detection for users wearing eyeglasses.
