FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology and endocrinology and can be used for assessing the risk of thyroid gland cancer (TGC) in patients with nodular thyroid formations. Nodular formations are examined by a radial technique. Biochemical and hormonal analysis of patient's blood serum sample. Based on the results of the studies, diagnostic features are determined, which are used: localization of nodular thyroid formation, presence of microcalcifications, type of nodular echogenicity, type of nodular blood flow, level of thyrotropic hormone, level of triglycerides. Risk of thyroid cancer is calculated by the original calculation formula.
EFFECT: method provides a reliable and objective assessment of the presence of TGC (with a probability of not less than 90 %) especially in patients with moderate iodine deficiency.
