FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flow-through fuel elements and can be used for production of current-collecting plates of flow-through redox batteries. Method of modifying flexible graphite sheets with a fluoropolymer involves laser engraving of the surface of sheet graphite, followed by depositing a fluoropolymer solution onto the surface and moulding the formed polymer film at temperature of 160÷180 °C.
EFFECT: disclosed method increases chemical stability of graphite sheets and is used for making current-collecting plates, which significantly prolongs service life of flow-through redox batteries.
