FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of forming a cable comprising a high-strength synthetic reinforcing member, as well as a obtained cable comprising a plurality of layers of twisted and braided threads, in which individual shells surrounding individual strands consist of such material as HMPE, PTFE or UHMWPE, with lower decomposition temperature than that of said strands material, which is aramid, wherein the method comprises a step of subjecting parts of the rope to heating and tensioning thereby to pre-stretch and create a non-uniform or non-uniform shape of said strands, as well as additionally a step of selecting a combination of braiding and twisting angles, as well as compression force of the braiding to provide specific strength and ratio of elongation between individual layers of the cable.
EFFECT: disclosed is a durable synthetic rope for units with a drive.
