SUBSTANCE: high-strength cable with a non-steel reinforcing element is created, which is easily checked for heating and elongation, comprising a piece of core cable (10) containing at least two fibre-optic conductors (2), which (i) are arranged in a spiral and (ii) are completely enclosed in a solid flexible material. One of the fibre-optic conductors is configured to transmit Raman backscattering wavelengths, and the other fibre-optic conductor is configured to transmit Brillouin scattering wavelengths. Combination of a cable and a polling device, which can read and interpret the Raman backscatter, connected and communicated with the fibre-optic conductors capable of transmitting the Raman backscatter wavelengths, and another interrogating device, which can read and interpret Brillouin scattering, connected and interconnected with fibre-optic conductors capable of transmitting Brillouin scattering wavelengths.
EFFECT: method of determining cable elongation without using a fibre-optic conductor in a free tube configuration.
