FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in order to manufacture the high-strength cable: a fibre optic wire (2) is arranged in a spiral around a core (1) containing a thermoplastic material; an additional thermoplastic material (3) is arranged in a spiral around the combination of the core (1) and the fibre optic wire (2); the thermoplastic materials are hardened so as to form the main cable (10). A screen (4) is then formed around the main cable (10), as well as a hollow braided power element containing a synthetic material around the main cable covered with the screen. The resulting cable is tensioned and heated so as not to compromise the structural integrity of the layer (3). The fact that the desired elongation and compaction value of the resulting cable and the power element containing said cable have been achieved is determined, followed by cooling the cable to ambient temperature while maintaining tensioning of the cable.
EFFECT: higher resolution and quality of the signal transmitted via fibre optic wires contained in the cable, with an increase in the strength of the cable.
