FIELD: cables.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the design features of cables. Cable is configured for the heating and elongation thereof to be tracked and comprises a segment of a core cable and a hollow braided reinforcing element containing synthetic fibres. Said segment of a core cable comprises fibre-optic conductors, wherein each of the conductors has a spiral shape, and a solid flexible thermoplastic material fully enclosing the fibre-optic conductors inside thereof. Herewith, one of the fibre-optic conductors is used to transmit Raman backscattering wavelengths, and the other of the fibre-optic conductors is used to transmit Brillouin scattering wavelengths. Also claimed is a combination of the cable with a polling apparatus configured to read and interpret Raman backscattering, connected to and communicating with a fibre-optic conductor. Also claimed is a method for determining the elongation of a load-bearing cable.
EFFECT: lower weight of the cable capable of sustaining typical destructive forces and easily tested for heating and elongation.
