SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. System comprises a memory and a processor which interacts with the memory, wherein the computer system is configured to implement a method which includes obtaining a command for performing a shift and division operation, and executing a command including shifting a value in a predetermined direction by a selected value to provide a dividend, wherein the selected value is user-specified, dividing the dividend into a divisor to obtain a quotient, selecting at least a subset of the quotient as a result, and placing the result in the selected location, wherein the result is to be used when processing in a computing environment, wherein the value is a decimal integer, and at least a subset of the quotient is the selected number of digits of the quotient, wherein selected number of bits includes number of integer digits and number of fractional digits.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of performance due to elimination of a long sequence of commands.
