FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for ensuring safety of vehicle control and can be used to warn personnel on distraction, falling asleep and other conditions threatening traffic safety. Operator control device comprises two imaging cameras in near infrared range, fixed relative to operator preset view area and an alarm signal generator which generates an alarm signal depending on the frequency of detecting inadmissible deviations in the operator's pupil images on the images of each camera.
EFFECT: it is possible, by simple means, to reliably determine the state of the operator and generate signals which enable to take timely measures to prevent an emergency situation.
