FIELD: traffic safety means at railway crossing.

SUBSTANCE: railway crossing zone automatic monitoring method consists in the fact, that performing the railway crossing zone video monitoring, at which the objects moving in the controlled zone of the railway crossing are detected by the computer vision methods, and then statically located in this zone for a predetermined amount of time, the objects are ranked. Longer the time of immobilisation, the higher the rank of the object, wherein the time threshold depends on the operation of the signal of the barrier automatic device and decreases when the barrier closes. When the predetermined rank of the object is achieved, light and sound warning means are activated and the reaction of the detected object is continuously monitored. In case of increased danger level, dispatcher and rolling stock are informed about warning actuation. In case of high danger level, automatic train braking system is activated. Invention covers also the railway crossing zone automatic control system.

EFFECT: higher safety of railway crossing operation.
