FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of preparing a carrier for hydrotreating catalysts, containing, wt%: silicon dioxide SiO2 – 2.0–20.0, aluminum borate Al3BO6 with a norbergite structure – 5.0–25.0, γ-Al2O3 is the rest. Silicon dioxide SiO2 contained in the carrier is an amorphous phase and has particles sized 3–20 nm; included in the composition of the aluminum borate Al3BO6 with the norbergite structure is particles with size from 10 to 200 nm. Carrier has specific surface area of 240–270 m2/g, pore volume of 0.5–0.8 cm3/g, average diameter of pores is 7–12 nm and represents particles with cross-section in form of circle, trefoil or four-leaves with diameter of circumscribed circle of 1.0–1.6 mm and length of up to 20 mm. Method of preparing the carrier involves the following steps: milling the product of thermal activation of hydrargillite Al(OH)3 to particles with average size of 20–50 mcm; hydration; flushing; hydrothermal treatment of suspension; spray drying; mixing the pseudo-boehmite powder with the silica sol; peptisation; extrusion; thermal treatment of extrudates including drying and tempering.

EFFECT: high hydrodesulphurisation and hydrodeazotizing activity.
