SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of preparing a hydrotreating catalyst for diesel fuel, characterized in that the catalyst is prepared by impregnating a support which contains, wt%: silicon dioxide SiO2, which is an amorphous phase and having a particle size of 3–20 nm – 2.0–20.0, aluminum borate Al3BO6 with a norbergite structure – 5.0–25.0, γ-Al2O3 – rest; aqueous solution of complex compounds [Co(H2O)2(C6H5O7)]2[Mo4O11(C6H5O7)2] and Co2[H2P2Mo5O23] followed by drying, wherein concentrations of components of solution provide a catalyst which includes, wt%: [Co(H2O)2(C6H5O7)]2[Mo4O11(C6H5O7)2] – 7.7–32.0; Co2[H2P2Mo5O23] – 11.1–29.0; carrier – balance; followed by sulphurisation of catalyst, wherein catalyst after sulphidation using known techniques comprises, wt.%: Mo – 10.0–16.0; Co – 2.7–4.5; P – 0.8–1.8; S – 6.7–10.8; carrier – balance.
EFFECT: technical result of present invention is obtaining a catalyst having maximum activity in target reactions occurring during hydrofining of mixed diesel fuel containing distillates of secondary oil refining processes.
