FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of treating microporous membranes useful as filtering and adsorbing media, as well as to microporous membranes made using said methods. Method for treating a surface of a filled microporous membrane comprising a polyolefin polymer matrix, a finely ground, inorganically insoluble inorganic filler, distributed over said matrix and a network of interconnected pores interconnected in the entire microporous membrane, where the inorganic filler is selected from a group consisting of silica, alumina, calcium oxide, zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, as well as mixtures thereof, this method comprising successively implemented: (1) contacting the membrane with a first treatment composition containing an epoxy silane compound having at least one epoxy group and at least one silane group, wherein said epoxy silane compound is in close contact with the inorganic filler in the matrix; (2) subjecting said membrane to conditions sufficient for the first reaction between the inorganic filler and silane groups of the epoxy silane compound to flow, wherein said first reaction is a condensation reaction performed by contacting the membrane obtained at step (1) with the main solution and/or by exposing the treated membrane to high temperature; (3) contacting said membrane with a second treatment composition comprising a polyalkylene polyamine, polysaccharide with amine functionality and/or aminosilane; and (4) subjecting said membrane to conditions sufficient for the second reaction to occur, wherein said second reaction is a release reaction of the epoxide ring, performed by contacting the membrane obtained at step (3), with an acid solution and/or by exposing the treated membrane to high temperature.
EFFECT: technical result is improved resistance of microporous membranes to contaminants.
