FIELD: military science.

SUBSTANCE: method relates to the field of military science, namely, to masking military objects and counteracting multi-and hyperspectral reconnaissance by eliminating a single spectral image or a set of spectral features used for its detection by spacecraft of multi- and hyperspectral reconnaissance in a reconnaissance object and can be used to mask volumetric and area military facilities, weapons and military equipment. To counteract multi- and hyperspectral reconnaissance, camouflage covering is used, including polymer-coated polymer tapes with metal coating. Color set, dimensions, arrangement of the halftone screen formed from the polymer tapes are determined, the polymer tapes are colored by forming a one-dimensional photonic crystal with a photonic band-gap in the visible band by anodizing and bonding into a camouflage coating.

EFFECT: higher quality of camouflage, reduced probability of detection and recognition of reconnaissance object except for presence of only single spectral image in visible range, formation of mutual location of elements of masking coating and deforming spots corresponding to underlying surface.
