METHOD OF TREATING AND PREVENTING LOWER URINARY TRACT SYMPTOMS IN MALES USING NORTHERN WALKING TECHNIQUE Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61H1/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to restorative medicine, urology, and aims at treating and preventing lower urinary tract symptoms in males. Clinical, instrumental and laboratory examination of the patient is carried out, including consultation of the urologist, questioning with the questionnaires NIH-CPSI, IPSS, IIEF-5, AMS, QoL, VAS, measurement of height and weight, waist circumference, arterial pressure, examination with digital rectal examination, prostate secretion analysis, secretion of prostate secret or seminal fluid, determination of initial level of prostatic specific antigen (PSA). Also biochemical blood test is performed: glucose and cholesterol and transrectal ultrasonography of prostate. Course of the Nordic Walking exercises is prescribed. Classes include the main course of 4 weeks with subsequent repetition of programs second, third, fourth week, then again second to 8 weeks. Classes are 3 times a week. Before each session, warm-up is performed first. After 4 weeks of therapy, the effectiveness of the therapy is evaluated by repeated filling the questionnaires NIH-CPSI, IPSS, IIEF-5, AMS, QoL, VAS for monitoring the patient's condition. Before the beginning of the Nordic Walking exercises course, the patient is instructed to explain and demonstrate walking technique, selecting the necessary equipment.

EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness and prevention of lower urinary tract symptoms in men, provides relief of pain syndrome, lower urinary tract symptoms, improves quality of life ensured by the complex of Nordic Walking exercises.
