SUBSTANCE: method of decoding video data comprises receiving a bit stream which includes a bit sequence which generates a representation of a coded picture of video data; determining decomposition of a coded picture of video data into a plurality of blocks using three or more different partition structures, wherein at least three of said three or more different partition structures can be used for at least one depth of the tree structure, which represents how a concrete block of a coded picture of video data is divided, and wherein said three or more different partition structures include a ternary tree partition structure; determining decomposition of at least one block of a coded picture of video data using a tile tree tile structure partitioning type, wherein the ternary tree partition structure divides said at least one block into three sub-blocks without dividing said at least one block in the center of said at least one block; and restoring a plurality of blocks of the encoded picture of video data.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improved efficiency of coding.
