FIELD: electricity; manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making electrodes for manual arc welding of low-carbon high-strength low-alloyed steels. Electrode coating contains marble, fluorspar, kaolin, feldspar, ferromanganese, ferrosilicium, ferrotitanium, plasticizer, iron powder and quartz sand at preset ratio. Coating additionally contains a modifying mixture containing chromium nitrated, chromium aluminothermic, a detonation diamond, nickel aluminide and cerium dioxide.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the limit cold brittleness while ensuring the toughness of the weld metal is not less than 34 J/cm2 at temperatures up to minus 70 °C with preservation of its ultimate tensile strength not lower than 590 MPa.
