FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to surgery, and can be used for the surgical treatment of hypertrophy of the periungual distal and lateral skin folds of the toes and fingers. Area of surgical intervention undergoes preoperative treatment with antiseptic solutions. The skin and subcutaneous fat are dissected twice at a step from the nail plate. The skin area with the subcutaneous fat is then removed. Next, sutures are applied, and an aseptic dressing with an aqueous antiseptic solution is installed, simultaneously dislocating outward and smoothing the skin fold.
EFFECT: method reduces the trauma rate of the performed surgical treatment and provides a normal appearance of the nail plate due to the dislocation of the skin folds forward and to the sides of the nail plate, as well as eliminates trauma to the matrix, nail plate, periosteum, and bone.
