FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to optical fibre preforming for making a single-mode optical fibre, a method of making a single-mode optical fibre using an optical fibre preform. Optical fibre preform for making a single-mode optical fibre comprises a core rod, a thin quartz sleeve surrounding the core rod, and insulating quartz tube forming bushing between core rod and thin quartz bushing, gap between insulating quartz tube and thin quartz bushing forms filled with quartz powder space. Optical fibre preform further comprises a tail tube. Tail pipe comprises a tail rod, a small tail tube enveloping the tail pin, a large tail tube enveloping the small tail tube, and sealing plug located at end of tail rod, small tail tube and large tail tube. One end of the tail rod is connected to the core rod. Other end of tail rod is connected with sealing plug. Hole on one end of small tail tube is tightly connected to insulating quartz tube. Hole on the other end of the small tail tube is tightly connected to the sealing plug. Hole at one end of large tail tube is tightly connected to thin quartz bushing. Hole on the other end of the large tail tube is tightly connected to the sealing plug. Gap between large tail tube, small tail tube and sealing plug communicates with quartz powder filled with space to form second section. Sealing plug is equipped with external outlet hole. Outer outlet is communicated with second section.

EFFECT: technical result is improved characteristics of optical fibre.
